A dream Anassa wedding
Lisa & Michael
Where do I start describing Lisa & Michael’s incredible Anassa wedding day? Firstly let’s talk about their amazing choice in a Cyprus wedding venue. The Anassa resort is nestled on a hillside 5 minutes from Latchi. This amazing resort has the most breathtaking views of the Mediterranean sea and is fully equipped with a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, kids activities, private beach, various restaurants and luxurious rooms . Moreover the hotel oozes luxury, elegance and comfort with a village style ambience. It’s truly the perfect place for a couple’s getaway, a family holiday or a wedding.
Did you know Anassa means “Queen” in Greek? Getting married here will definitely make you feel like the queen you are.
Lisa & Michael’s traditional Anassa wedding was filled with so much love, laughter and energy. It was evident from their day that these two amazing souls were destined to spend their forever-more together.
Their love story in their own words:
We met in London in a pub, which is ironic as neither of us go to the pub! We didn’t exchange numbers that night and we went our separate ways. 6 months later I accepted a job directly opposite one of his garages, We then met up again while I was there. Over a couple of years we dated then Michael proposed at his mum’s house to me on Thursday, 22nd December 2016, then the rest is history as they say!
1. Why did you pick the venue/s that you chose?
We wanted to get married in what we feel is the most beautiful hotel in Cyprus. For us the Anassa is that and ticked all our boxes.
2. What was the biggest challenge you faced in planning your Cyprus wedding?
Emailing vendors. We are face to face people so dealing with emails is hell! Also getting a band, we found that bands in Cyprus were all traditional Greek music so we had to fly our own band from London to do both more modern Greek as well as English music.
3. What inspired your wedding décor? Did you have a theme in mind?
I had a rose gold theme for my engagement party and I tried to follow the scheme into our Anassa wedding. However, as I went along I found I preferred very neutral colours so rose gold and ivory was the right choice.
4. What was your favorite part of the day? Does your spouse have a different favorite?
Both of us agree that the BEST part of the day was walking into the village square with all our guests clapping and greeting us. It was unreal. The band was playing an amazing song and everyone was standing to welcome us. It was the best feeling.
5. Anything you would change if you could?
I would double triple check everything to make sure there are no crossed wires with the vendors and hotel.
6. Any advice for couples planning their Cyprus wedding now?
Don’t forget the marriage license! It’s a nightmare!! Get it organised nice and early.
7. List of vendors who helped make your day happen
Diane and the girls at Marry me Cyprus, Georgia for flowers in Paphos, and obviously the great Mandy and Louis (Christodoulou Photography) for photography and videography.
